Ez and Sev are joined in studio by trailblazing Meanjin playwright and director Esther Dougherty (they/them) and actors Eli Free (she/they) and Liam Linane (he/they) from the upcoming independent debut production Zagazig. They discuss the power of distinctly queer works, tease at some themes and mysteries in the new play and ponder the complexities of cooked clowns and bin chickens. Poetry & Pokemon

Today on Tranzmission Ez has a chat with Rae White who is a non-binary transgender writer, educator, and zine maker. Their poetry collection Milk Teeth won the 2017 Arts Queensland Thomas Shapcott Poetry Prize, was shortlisted for the 2019 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards and commended in the 2018 Anne Elder Award. Rae’s second poetry collection Exactly As I Am is out now. Rae talks about how their experience of their gender identity and how that influences their latest collection Exactly As I Am [12:34]

Special guest Marisa Georgiou joins Ez in studio this week to discuss being neurodiverse (ND) and transgender [09:36]. Both discuss the complex nature of being neurodiverse and how that plays with gender diversity. Marisa shares some of their experience with autism and how they navigate the world around them.
